Building Modular User Experiences Using Composite Client Application Guidance
With Uwe Schmitz
Join us to learn how to manage the complexities of building enterprise-class Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) client applications and Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) with Silverlight.
- Simplify complex applications by assembling them from modules.
- Increase quality.
- Incrementally integrate new features.
- Leverage multiple independent teams.
Enjoy complimentary pizza, pop and an entertaining demonstration-filled presentation about Microsoft Composite Client Application Guidance (formerly "Prism") which can help you design and build "composite applications" using loosely coupled, independently evolvable pieces that work together and are integrated into the overall application.
For more information about this guidance, please visit msdn.microsoft.com/library/dd458809.aspx.
Uwe Schmitz has made a career out of his passion for technology; his thirteenth birthday wish came true with a TRS-80 Pocket Computer and the rest, as they say, is history. Uwe is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer with a keen interest in Microsoft Azure, RESTful WCF services, Silverlight, and Composite Client Application Guidance. Uwe enjoys sharing his experiences with agile practices and tools, both technical and non-technical.

Amir Barylko Presents
Automocking
Mocking is an excellent tool to allow us to focus on testing a particular class without worrying about the dependencies. However, setting up the dependencies can be a tedious, repetitive task. We will see how using an IoC container combined with Rhino Mocks will help us to define base classes to target on testing just one feature at a time.
Amir Barylko is an IT consultant with 14 years of experience working as an architect and developer. He is very passionate about service oriented architectures, TDD, BDD and model driven applications.
Date: Thursday, November 19, 2009 Time: Presentation to begin at 5:45-6:00 PM, arrival recommended between 5:30-5:45 PM Location: One Lombard Place (Richardson Building), 17th Floor

A thank you to our sponsors...

 |
|
The Winnipeg .Net User Group is grateful for the support of our annual sponsors. These organizations have offered their valuable time, resources, and money to support each event that occurs throughout the year. Without their support, we would not be able to bring in the speakers we do or offer the wonderful prizes and food at each event.
Please do yourselves and our sponsors a favour - get out there and do business with them and talk to your friends and colleagues about the great job they're doing. Learn more about our sponsors...
